From Warren

I'm Warren, a college student. I am going to write about my personal experiences with mental health. So, I hope this will help you if you are struggling.

In secondary school I had the worst time with my mental health as it was at an all-time low, I felt like I didn't belong there. As this continued, I started to skip days just so I didn't have to go, I became increasingly disconnected with everyone slowly shutting myself away from people. I was on the verge of fully locking myself in my house, but one friend started to worry about me and started to pull me back to reality (most teachers couldn't see that I was mentally exhausted as I was very good at masking) slowly but surely.

When at school I always hid my true feelings, but that one friend saw right through it and started to help me reconnect with people and I started trusting more people. Also, another way I was dealing with the stress and mental anguish was by playing video games, only relaxing ones and listening to calming music really helped me to relax and build confidence. Also, some breathing techniques helped me concentrate and calm down. As I eventually started to come out of my shell, the teachers and my mum helped me so much and the more I talked to them, the more my confidence grew. I started talking to other people and as I gained more and more friends it changed my mindset from sad and unhappy to a positive outlook and allowed me to show my true colours. After that my friend and I became inseparable and still game together to this day.

So, all in all. if you feel down or are suffering with mental health problems don't do what I did and push everyone away. Please talk to them or even someone you trust, but if you're not ready yet please take your time, take a break to have time, to relax and reset.

BUT PLEASE DO TALK TO SOMEONE AS THIS WILL HELP
